Archlichs kick butts and take names. Awesome ED, though I'd love it if Eladrin could somehow lose the utility offered for projection (like Baelnorn have). Probably can add it as an Epic feat though. Only thing I don't like is that they are arcane only. Imo should give you your choice of Int or Wis increase at 21st and be available for the divine classes as well.

It's a crummy option as written. Look at the features:
Ok so if you drop to 0 HP or less (even if you aren't dead) you automatically crumble to dust and disappear for an entire day. Great. You can't maybe, stick around and wait to see if the party warlord can heal you? Maybe someone will make a heal check? Perhaps you have an ability that activates on a failed death saving throw? No? You are gone for the entire day so your party either has to press on without you or sit around and wait for you to respawn and find your way back to wherever they are (since your phylactery is likely sitting at home). This is actually a downgrade from the regular death mechanic because it can take you out of the game on the first combat of the day without a chance to do anything about it.
Maybe the level 24 power, "mastery over death," will help? "Once per day when you die..." Aww crap. Unless the attack that brings me below 0 HP actually kills me this will never activate. I'll just crumble to dust. This is near worthless.
Level 30? When enemies die I recover an encounter power! Yay! Except I have to be within 5 squares of them for some reason (dangerous since I might disintegrate). Also at level 30 there aren't very many minions around. There are a lot of solo encounters. Meh.
Arch Lich Potency? Ok this isn't that bad. You'll pretty much need the damage reduction too...you wouldn't want to inadvertently crumble to dust at an inopportune moment.
I'm supposed to take this over planeshaper or archmage or darklord (let alone demigod)? Is the crumble to dust thing supposed to balance the "awesome" abilities?
