Does anyone know how much of Exemplars of Evil will be tied to 3.5? Is it a rules-lite release, or are there lots of mechanics/crunch tied to 3.x? Also are there some ties to existing settings?

The 2E villain book was one of the best books published in that era, though, so you can never tell.ivocaliban said:Can't say much for the rules, but it seems as if the vast majority of the book is a collection of sample villains. Something that might be useful for beginning DMs, but not quite so much for someone whose been creating villains for fifteen years.
Judging from the TOC which is up for download at WotC's only the first 20 pages aren't edition-specific. Well, the villains' background/goals obviously aren't either.DM_Jeff said:I just got home with this book. I'll answer specific questions. It is very tied to 3.5 rules and has spells, feats, loads of statblocks and encounters and more. 160 pages of 'em.

If that is the case, then I will certainly buy it.Jhaelen said:However, iirc, 'Exemplars of Evil' is one of those 3.5 releases that will be supported for use in 4th.ed. by D&D Insider articles. Maybe someone can confirm this?
DM_Jeff said:The entire rest of the book, pages 33 or so through 160 are all 3.5 stat blocks utilizing over 20 3.5 rulebooks as soruce material.
I'd say it's firmly 3.5.
