Has anyone read through this or played Mechanika: Empires of Blood & Steam? Every once in a while a DriveThruRPG deal of the day looks interesting, but I can't find very detailed reviews.
Some things that seemed interesting.
"embrace the Steampunk Horror genre, while at the same time incorporating magical elements."
"designed to deliver a rapid fire cinematic tabletop experience."
"All you need to play is a pair of percentile dice, and a set of FUDGE dice."
"We have no classes or level system, resulting in an open ended free form development process, while still offering rich opportunities for character advancement."
"Character creation is deep and satisfying, with perks, flaws, bonds, back stories..."
It describes a magic system with possible consequences like "insanity, death, or worse."
It describes a token system that rewards staying in character with points for rerolling etc.
"The game is set on an anachronistic Earth, following an alternate timeline filled with historical and fictional characters from throughout history. Mark Twain, Mr. Hyde, Rasputin, Queen Victoria, Vlad the Impaler, and Nikola Tesla."
The company YouTube video describes it as more horrific than World of Darkness (have they played at some of the darker tables of WoD?)
