expertise AND fight defensive, possible?

just a thought that came to me while reading another thread:

can you use expertise in concert with fighting defensively or the full defense action? which, if possible, would allow you to get the +5 to AC from expertise and the +2 from fighting defensively?

i'm guessing that the full defensive option wouldn't work as IIRC, it only allows you to move, but what about the other defensive option?

opinions, thoughs, comments?

Yes, you can fight defensively and use the Expertise feat when taking an attack or full attack action, for a total bonus of +7 to your AC and -9 on your attack roll.

You can't use Expertise with Total Defense because using Total Defense requires it's own standard action (not an attack action), and you can only use Expertise when you are using an attack action.

Also, get some Tumble, if possible; if you have 5 or more ranks in Tumble, you gain a +3 AC for fighting defensively instead of the standard +2 (PHB, p.75).

Defending weapons are also nice to have in this case - as is the Superior Expertise feat (from Oriental Adventures), if your base attack bonus is higher than 5.
