[QUOTE="Chaosmancer, post: 7952807, member: 6801228"] Stuff like this isn't about what happens at the table. Personal stuff about Eberron. I really wanted to like the setting, but, there were certain fans I'd encountered online who would post dictionaries of lore dumps, just randomly into other conversations, to prove how X had destroyed Y and therefore was the worst thing that had ever happened to the game since Z. And it turned me off learning more about Eberron, because I had to wade through so much of it at one point, just to continue an unrelated conversation that I just didn't care. And it almost turned me off enough not to join an online game set in Eberron, because the DM asked us to know about the setting. She ended up meaning something entirely reasonable by that, and I am very glad I ended up joining, but there was a strong urge to not even contact her about the game, because I didn't want to deal with yet another zealous fan of the setting. And, FR is the same way (as are planescape and spelljammer frankly) where there fans are so intense about discussing everything, no matter the context of the thread, that it makes me care less about the setting and more about just avoiding it at all costs, so I don't have to hear it again. There is pretty much no reason for us to be discussing how 4e treated the Forgotten Realms in this thread. It has nothing to do with Wildemount, and a person searching online for information on Wildemount and reading this thread will learn more about the Forgotten Realms and the Sword Coast, than they will about the book the OP was reviewing.
