Theissen is known to be in discussions with the Hinwil, Switzerland based Sauber organisation regarding an engine supply deal for 2006. Sauber has used Ferrari engines since 1997 but it was recently confirmed that from next the rival Red Bull Racing F1 team would use the Italian power units.

Since 2000 BMW has had an exclusive engine supply arrangement with the British WilliamsF1 Formula One team but is thought to be disappointed with the results achieved in recent years and at various times there has been speculation that the manufacturer was considering running its own F1 team.

Yeah, the engine supply deals are interesting to follow. It'll be interesting to see how the field changes with the switch to V-8s (or crippled V-10s) next year.

But the whole BAR thing is crazy, it really had made the season so far a bit more weird. Which is too bad, as the competition level has gone up significantly this year. It seems like, on any given weekend, almost everyone except the Jordan and Minardi minnows (and to a smaller degree, these days, Red Bull and Sauber) can be competing for podium finishes.
