I have an idea that would allow the introduction of Warforged to Faerun without altering the core concepts of Eberron. Everron, as Patryn of Elvenshae, mentioned has a separate cosmology from that of Toril's "Great Tree" or Oerth's "Great Wheel." However, there was an event on Eberron that could have brought Warforged and other Eberron races elsewhere.... the destruction of Cyre. In this recent event, an entire nation was devastated by an unknown magical effect. Possibly this magical effect could have thrown some Warforged, humans, shifters, and others from Cyre to other realities. This would allow the introduction of Warforged without much altering of any existing cosmologies or histories. Imagine the shock of characters from Cyre seeing their nation destroyed and being transported to the Realms or to Oerth. How would such characters react to this event? How would they react to their new world? How would natives of Toril or Oerth react to warforged, shifters, changelings, and kalashtar, along with more "traditional" races. How would the former inhabitants of Khorvaire react to worlds where the existence of the gods is a known fact? What would be the goals of the characters? Is there any way for them to return home? Do they find new allies or make new enemies? Just tossing out a few ideas that will hopefully give DMs and players a few ideas.
