Re: Re: Fair way to get rid of player? Joke - Beer comes in multiples of six. Seriously - My DM had similar delema so we simply play at my house, which has a basement. Its bigger than his appartment - problem solved - everyone usually chips in for goodies too, just because you DM/Host doesn't mean you foot the munchies bill. If you have no other option, try this.... When one of my subordinates at work has a problem making a decision that will be tough or unpopular at work, (perhaps the lesser of two evils or X vs Y) I do the following: ME: "OK lets flip a coin...get one out". HIM/HER: "Huh"? ME: "If you can't find the relative merit of any one course of action over another then just flip for it". "Heads = X Tails = Y". HIM/HER: UHHH, Ok. HIM/HER: **Flipping coin** Noise...Ching.... ME: **Grabbing Coin out of air** "Quick, before you think about it which one did you wish it'd be"? HIM/HER: "X or Y". (as they fancy it) ME: "Well then you already had made a decision - right"? HIM/HER: "Guess so....". ME: "Confidence in one's ability to make decisions and stick to them is a mater of desire and practice". "Making hard decisions is a mater of instinct, what's best is usually obvious". "The abilty to actually act on a hard decision is somewhat tougher". Being the bad guy sometimes comes with the stripes/bars/hat (whatever as the case may be)". "It goes with any mantle of leadership". (In this case even DM'ing) You see, it seems to me that if you hope to randomly generate a variable and state elsewhere that you "hope its the red-haired guy" who argues with you in front of others then you have already made your choice. Just stand up and do it, stick to your guns and explain why, wish him well and drive on with the game. Hope this helps....
