You know you didn't actually read my post and responded in an awful knee-jerk way that you should probably apologise for right? I didn't say anything about "hate", did I? That's 100% on you. That's a thing you made up and then claimed I did. Bethesda don't hate FO1/2/NV and I didn't say they did. Bethesda's leadership doesn't understand FO1/2/NV, beyond the most absolutely basic level, and that's what I said, and what you quoted without having read! Come on man! Bethesda don't understand the themes, they don't understand what's going on in those games story-wise, they don't understand what's interesting about the setting Interplay/Black Isle created. FO3 and FO4 are essentially "cargo cult" versions of FO1. They understood two things really well though - the 1950s-esque aesthetic, the Americana aspect, and the what Vaults are about. That's it. Everything else made them scratch their heads. That's why, for example, FO3's plot and events are such a complete mess and have some of the worst railroading in a Western RPG, despite FO1/2 having had more choice than almost any game before them. Not understanding something and hating something are completely different things. That you didn't actually think about that, and feel the need to knee-jerk is again, on you. You're behaving like exactly what you're complaining about - someone who doesn't think and just reacts and repeats nonsense like "Beth hates NV". TLDR: Please don't accuse me of stuff other, dumber, people have said, just because you didn't bother to read! EDIT - Before any more wild and deeply misdirected accusations are made - it's fine if you like FO3 and FO4, despite them both being railroad-y (even by videogame RPG standards) messes - they are pretty fun to explore in and do stuff, especially FO4. But FO1/2/NV were remarkable because they had a ton of ideas, talked about them intelligently, and offered a ton of choices, including really unconventional ones, and that's what was missing - but is present here. I hope we get an FO5, but not from Bethesda - mostly because they wouldn't even have time to start on it for like 4-5 years given they're working on TESVI. Yeah definitely! I watched the last two episodes, and I can see why some critics are giving it 5/5 or 10/10 or the like. They really pull everything together and a strong, interesting and somewhat complicated ending with a lot of potential for the future. And yeah, it's very clear these writers understand Fallout in way that Bethesda's writers don't. Given how solid it was, it would be quite difficult for Amazon to screw this up beyond just dropping the budget a huge amount. I think that's the only major risk so long as the keep the same showrunners/writers/cast. Also I really do want to shout out the writers for: A) Managing to have so many characters and storylines, without making it confusing or annoying or you starting to get antsy that you've haven't seen anything from X viewpoint for a while - a lot of writing teams can't manage this. B) Handling all the reveals and big ideas and so on so well. C) I mentioned this before, but handling exposition extremely well. They just continue doing this - this is also on the showrunners and the rest of the crew because a ton of stuff is explained in this visually, and not with words/ D) Keeping an appropriately Fallout level of humour and knowing when to be funny and when not. I mean, this should be a basic skill for writers, but it's often MIA. So yeah, impressed. Also the last bit of the ending:
