I nothing original to add. I just want to second the idea that the ones to look for are books by Pratchett & Erikson that haven't had a US release and the Fantasy Masterworks (& Science Fiction Masterworks?) series. There is a lot in the Fantasy Masterworks series, and it's a very good place to get lots of relatively good and obscure fantasy cheaply. Look up the index of the whole series and look at what's available in detail.
