He had a decently large family, having both parents and being the middle child of seven (three older and three younger). However, both mother and father have grown old in their days and a few town guards watch over the family and their home as a debt to his father's long term service in the militia. They are about the only people that trust the family, due to their vast generocity and overall politeness, but are as well as the only people the family trusts. The rest of the troupe looks upon Zane's family as cheats, and liars, because of various rumors spread about by the troupe's leader. This of course giving them a bad reputation and conflict with their peers.</p><p>"That (eh, sorry, forgot there was an explicit in here)ing leader has to go! It's him or us! We'll be driven out of town before too long," his father spat one day. He had been planning for several months on how to get a new leader in charge with a revolution, with or without help. "Those stinking Pelor do gooders think they can do whatever they want. If he weren't in the position he was in, no one would give him the time of day. Oh Zaphaxious, why couldn't you do something about him and bring peace to our family and cure the rest of the fools of their blindness." his father added.</p><p>"Oh come, he's not that bad. He knows you are the only competition for control of the troupe and is only doing his job." his mother replied, "And besides, who cares what the troupe thinks. As long as we're happy and please Him (Zaphaxious) we needn't fear a thing." After Zane grew of age, he was sent away to a neighboring troupe to begin his studies for his trade. Shortly after his father did lead a revolution and both his mother, father, and all their support were easily pushed back and slain.</p><p></p><p>Zane's new mentor was indeed a great man. He encouraged outdoor activity and nature hikes for early survival practices, as well as reading during the night hours for intellect. As with all students, Zane was partial to few studies and disreguarded the rest. The few subjects he found interesting were Astrology, Astronomy, and Law. One of the things he learned from his mentor, was that he was born under a blood moon. The mentor explained that typically it was a bad omen sign, but it was just a superstition.</p><p>"Some even say that those born to a blood moon will be nothing more than cold murderers and hanged before their life is half over." he said. His mentor also knew that intelligence and wit would not keep him alive in the world and pushed Zane towards a militaristic trade. Being a quick learner, and very nimble, Zane quickly gained ranks in the local militia jumping from some "punk kid" to Squire, and eventually to a middle ranking officer in very impressive time. </p><p></p><p></p><p>"I'm sorry my love, I do this for us." And with that, he impales his beloved. She screams and howels as he thrusts again. After a few minutes, he rises and eyes the trail of blood escaping her body. He stares in awe of what he has done, yet soon his signature smirk is on his face and he leaves, pleased with his work. The next morning, he goes to his lady's chamber, thoughts of the night before racing in his mind. Silently he sat on her bed and ran his hand across the blood stained sheet. </p><p>"Is it actually done? Are things now complete?"</p><p>Zane looked to the voice of his lover and smiled, glad she was awake.</p><p>"Yes, we are truely one now. We are lovers emotionally and now physically. Are you ok?"</p><p>"Aye. Sore, but never have I felt better. </p><p>"I knew of the pain you would endure your first time. I tried to make it as easy for both of us as possible."</p><p>I know mylord. I love you."</p><p>"And I love you as well. Let us rejoice..."</p><p></p><p>That was a year to the day. Remembering the night Zane and his lover became as intimate as two individuals could be. The wedding was to take place soon there after, had things not gone ill. Zane was a treasure hunter by trade among his colligues. Thief to society. One day a well to do adept accusted Zane of stealing his wares.</p><p></p><p>"I swear I have none of this man's possessions or wares. I have never seen him before!" Zane pleaded when the guards interrigated him. Even according to a noble paladin's word Zane was indeed telling the truth, but the adept was certain Zane had them. Two days later, Zane came home from a days hard work to find his lover again in blood. This time from her neck. A message was by her corpse saying "I didn't steal her life. I have never seen her before." </p><p></p><p>"That fool makes a mochery of my words and takes her life. Such a stupid fool." Zane thought. For Zane knew the adept murdered his lover and that night paid him a visit. Bag in hand and dagger at the waist, Zane made quick work of the adept in his sleep, as well as to his wares and most expencive possessions. He then went back home and wept to sleep. Coincidentially, the next day, he learns at the guildhall that his best friend was in fact the assassin to his lover hired by the adept. Zane snapped, and in a raging fury unleashed his blade into his friend hacking him until his corpse was unable to be identified. Realizing he had no one left to love or trust in the troup, he went home, packed his things, and left his home at sun rise to find a new beginning. </p><p></p><p>After traveling several miles, he came upon a new town. He went to the inn and after giving the tennant his name, the tennant presented him with a message. Puzzled as to who would know his presance here, he opened it to see it from his old mentor. "It has been many moons since you studied under me son. Remember all that I taught you. Not everyone is as your home was. I have a friend in town who is in decent standing at the local guild. Tell him I sent you and he may be able to help you get your new life started. We shall never meet again. Fare the well." </p><p></p><p>So, he did as the message said, met his mentor's friend and was soon on his way to establishing a life in his new town. Enrolling into the guild himself, he quickly impressed the other members, eager to share many activities with him. One day, while at the tavern, he met a man similar in height, although nowhere near the same background nor trade. He and Ian quickly became friends, the first since his deceesed lover. She has and probably will forever have a strong emotional effect on his life ever since, as well as the effects from his friend's betrayal. He now lives without giving anyone any trust. Every man for themself. Don't trust anyone. Will his newly found friend in this new town break the curse set upon him by his past? Only time will tell."</p><p></p><p>He has sense battled undead/golems almost religiously, making him near ineffective in combat, but he has taught me so much in the RP sense. I've had more fun being the "comic relief". There are a few posts, that I'll put links to when I look them up that talks about this char a bit more.</p></blockquote><p></p>
