Favorite Peices of Artwork (so far)

One of the things I've loved about 4E is the move away from the 'dungeon punk' artwork. The subjects still look exotic and 'heroic' (however I define that) but they're more grounded in reality.

Right now at least my favorite artwork is the (relatively small) drawing of the warrior on horseback on P. 37 of the DMG. He looks almost exactly how I would imagine a lone adventurer, armed to the teeth and ready for anything.

I really rather enjoy the teifling and the dwarf running for their life away in the trap gauntlet with the indie bolder rolling behind them.

Also I am enjoying the presence of multible race sterotypes for each race, as well as scenes of people running away (or at least looking like it).

I, too, am seriously enjoying the art. I liked a good deal of 3e art, but this stuff blows it away. My favorite so far (besides all the WAR stuff, which I can't get enough of) is page 119 of the DMG. An elf performing a ritual, probably? Anyway, I adore almost every single piece, large and small.

I'm with Logos on this one; I absolutely love the picture of the dwarf and tiefling running away from the boulder.

My other favourite is probably the Fallcrest picture; it's a very engaging piece that has plenty to look at, and it really goes a long way to help you imagine what a crowded bazaar might actually be like! Can't you just imagine a rogue snatching a player's money and making a break for it?

Yeah, I don't feel my blood pressure increasing when I look at the new artwork. I'm digging it.

The art is fan-freakin-tastic! I love the pic of the dead fighter and the dragonborn cleric trying to raise him while the elf rogue watches drow storm the room. Good stuff.

Agreed on the two running from the boulder, too. The elven ranger chick with the green swords is a nice pic. The Fellcrest pic is great.

I didn't hate the 3e art, but this stuff is so much more colorful, dynamic and exciting.
