Favorite pieces of fantasy art.

OO! Missed this one!

I think it is one of the quintessential D&D images.

I scour the internet a fair bit for character art. I'm very picky and only accept the best images for my characters. Here are a few of those (these are just linked through Google searches):

An old one that has always caught my eye is:

And a picture I just found recently that really caught my eye, and it doesn't hurt that it appears to be the Outlands (I love the 2 deities fighting in the background):

I don't think so. In fact, I think that's an easy way to make some bad assumptions about the player and their characters. Sometimes people just like art, and it has nothing whatsoever to do with what else they like or why they like it.

General assumptions I mean, not like you can tell everything about them, but the certain types of artwork people like reflects upon their character, look through the ancients and their art and how it varried.

Egyptian art was very uniformal, all bodies had the same length and width, you can go measure their paintings and this is the case.

Greek art was very epic showing off muscles and athletics, sometimes impossibly muscluar.

You can tell alot about those cultures just by their art, it also applies to people. We all like art, but the kinds of art we enjoy show an inside to us sometimes we dont even know.

I gotta go with Summer-K on this one. Sure, there might be no co-relation, but, even in this thread, look at the poster and then look at the art. If you know the poster from previous posts, are you really shocked by their art choices? True, it's not the be all and end all, but, I do agree that it's at least indicative.

OTOH, I also really love Trampier's DM's screen cover and Jeff Dee and Erol Otus both figure really high on my love list. :D And I'm about as far from an OSR player as you can get.
