Favorite Template?

I'm just curious since my group had this discussion, so I'm asking anyone that would like to answer.

Whats your favorite Template for a creature or a Character if given the chance to avoid any LA and such?

I don't really want to see a lot of responses about things like no LA Paragon being your favorite unless well, it really is heh. Flavor and story wise whats the most fun and interesting Template to you, and how is it so, it doesn't have to be RAW or anything, even your own Homebrewed ones work since this is for a favorite flavor type thing.

Personally my favorite Template is the Hero Template found on a Homebrew wiki section, Yes it is horribly unbalanced (SO MUCH) and not really something I'd ever really get to play in a normal game, but I love the idea of someone just being BORN better then everyone around them, as if they were destined to rise above them all and could never even know it until an opportunity arises, a sort of natural ruler or tyrant from day one. You could even say something cheesy like "anyone with this template is now called Captain _nationality_ or Super _blank_" and it still just makes me snicker and want to pull out my old comic stories. Other then being MUCH more skilled and talented then normal, they could even be any person they wanted, never having to adventure and just excelling at their chosen path.

Hero Template- +5 LA
HD become D12
+20 to all movement
+5 NA and +5 insight to AC
+6 to all Stats
+4 to all Skills
Can cast Foresight 3/day
4 feats at level 1, then a feat at every level

Favorite class/race with it? Human hero Fighter (or as we call it, The featgasm build)

Feral template from Savage Species.

Everyone says it is undercosted at LA +1, especially if class levels count as "hit dice" for the special attacks, and I agree.

However, if you gave the feral template for free to every barbarian as an additional class feature (i.e. barbarian levels count as HD), would the barbarian be tier 1? tier 2? I think not. So, what the heck...

-I've used the +1 LA Half-Minotaur template from Dragon Magazine 313 for a melee build.
-I like the +0 Amphibious template from Stormwrack because a -2 to Dex is very much worth it for the ability to breathe and swim well underwater, as well as do everything in air.
-I think the Necropolitan template from Libris Mortus is useful for making a cheap and easy undead character without becoming overly powerful.
-I like the Sanctified Template from BoED to make Good versions of very evil creatures.

I personally like templates that add more of a character flavor than a powerful set of abilities, helping to flesh out what your Roleplaying rather than stacking on over-the-top power.

...However, if I was going to Char-Op a character for Powergaming, I'd design a Magekiller melee type with a Half-Golem template for all the spell immunities.

As a GM, I really like using the Skinhusk, Wretched, and Ebon Servitor templates from the original Book of Templates.

As a player, I always wanted to play a Half-Nymph con artist, from the same source.

Feral, as mentioned above, allows for some truly wrecking builds, as far as melee goes, at least. The insectile template, or whatever it's called, from Savage Species is nice, and anything that grants lots of templates. The evolved undead template with Necropolitan (should work) is also kind of neat.

Feral is more than awesome. Even if it were LA2, it would be still totally worth taking it in many builds.
Draconic from Races of the Dragon is awesome for many classes for a mesely LA1. Gives +2 to STR, CON and CHA, some natural weapons and dragonblood subtype.
Forgotten realms Shade was sheer awesomeness before other book turned it from LA0 to LA4 (IIRC). Since it is LA4 now, you can imagine its power.
Dark from Tome of Magic is awesome for roguish characters, as it boosts stealth, movement, gives HiPS - all that for LA1.
