I recently got the revised Modern Edition of Four-Color to Fantasy. While it was great to read through it and see the updates that had been made to the original FCtF, I noticed something. Although this product had apparently been released in November of 2003, after the 3.5E updates (which were also for d20 Modern, though that wasn't made widely known), it was still a 3E product. As such, I've noted a few of the changes that should be made to bring FCtF over to 3.5E. These aren't complete by a longshot, but are mostly meant to get the ball rolling. I know FCtF doesn't get much love anymore, but I think it's a really great product and deserves a thread like this. So, here we go: On page 16, under the Class Skill heading for the Specialist, it talks about exclusive class skills. This reference should be deleted, as all skills are now either class skills or cross-class skills. On page 18, for the entry requirements into the Detective prestige class, the skill listing for Read Lips under the “Other” entry should be deleted. On page 18, under the class skill listing for the Detective prestige class, delete “Pick Pocket” and “Read Lips” as they are folded into the already-listed “Sleight of Hand” and “Spot” skills, respectively. On page 21, under the class skill listing for the Gadgeteer prestige class, delete the “Alchemy” listing, as it is folded into the already-listed Craft skill. On page 24, under the class skill listing for the Menacing Vigilante prestige class, delete the Innuendo listing, as it is folded into the already-listed Bluff skill. On page 132, change the Super Strike Power as follows: The effect becomes that your natural attacks and held weapons are treated as being “magical” for purposes of overcoming damage reduction. Change the increased effect to, for the price of 10 Hero Points, your natural attacks and held weapons are treated as epic for overcoming damage reduction. No multiples.
