Feat Reform

Goal: To go through and re-assign every OGC feat on the market. Paring down the feats currently available to those that actually qualify as feats.

Since funds are limited I'm going to have to ask a favor of the D20 publishers here. Send your feats to me via email, either in the body of the message or as an attachment. It'll get added to the list and become part of the project.

All who contribute to Feat Reform will get a contributor's copy.

I'm not a publisher, but I'm curious as to what exactly you want to do. Are you saying that you feel that some feats are not really feats? (As opposed to what, special powers?)


Anyway, I was going to say, I had entered the basics for a few third party feats for my own d20 character generator that I'm working on (and could paste them fairly quickly), but now that I think about it, why not look at the feats in PC Gen? It's got quite a few feats from non-WOTC (and so OGC) products - they're just text files, and given a basic description of it (and what it does).

I'd like to hear more about what your thoughts on feats are? Are you planning on consolidating similiar feats, or just using your definition of what a feat is to some nebulous purpose?

To put it simply, to remove those feats that really don't qualify as feats. For instance, the "set spear against charge" feat found in the Stormbringer d20 book. Which is something one learns during regular training. That is, it's more a trick or maneuver than a true feat. Expect an example of this at The Gaming Outpost in about a week.

this is still one person's opinion on what is and isn't a feat. Even though you are going through them all (good luck) what criteria are you using? What will constitute a feat and not a feat? What happens if a publisher's feat is not met? What will happen? Are you putting out a big book of feats? Why not work along side of the netbook of feat's people they have almost 300 of them already done.
