First Post
First off, this isint a poltical thread, but a bit of a news thing and a toss back to what happened to me before.

The feds are searching all the planes in the states due to box cutters found on 2 southamerican flights.

Searching all luggage.......yanno........

THEY MIGHT FIND MY LOST LUGGAGE NOW!

And no, i didnt plant the boxcutters just so theyd find my luggage, but it would be really ironic if they did find it now!

FED #1: OK, get ready to sound the all clear, I...wait!

FED #2: What, what it it?

FED #1: Asuitcase, wedged back here in the flight attendents section. Looks like.. books, and ... alert. I see several small polyhedral objects inside it.

FED #2: Polyhe...Get out of there! Get out now!

FED #1: (Running noises heard) What? What?

FED #3: Clear this channel. I hear you boys got some gamer spoor up there. Crafty buggers. Reminds me of my years at MIT. Never knew where you'd find'em.

FED #1 Oh God, oh GOd!

FED #2: Was there any sign of GURPS up there? If it's just D&D'ers you're fine. But those crazy GURPS bastards will take your arm off.

FED #3: Dinna here what he's saying? GURPS don't use no polyhedrals, y'idiot. Only Yahtzee dice.

FED #2: THank God, oh thank GOd.

FED #1: I'm almost out, I... hey, this looks kinda cool. So you just roll this, and then... (Clattering sounds).

FED #3.: Keerist. We lost him. We lost Fred. Seal the craft, prepare to blow it. And find whose luggage that was...

You joke but when I took a flight out of London last year, the so-called "security" official at Heathrow found a copy of Dragon Mag I had in my hand luggage. He opened it and scoured every single page with a frown before returning it to me. Airport "security" must be deranged if they think there's any kind of link between gamers and terrorists.

You got it all wrong. He was previewing it, in order to decide if he should buy it or not...

Yeah, clueless is right.

At Gen Con I had my laptop stuffed inside my D&D book bag since the old carrying case had long since worn out. When I borded the plane back to Seattle the security guard looked at me like I was crazy and said that he was certain the D&D was a game that belonged to the past. Hello! Gen Con??? Everyone who flew in for the convention was flying out through that airport right then, and I don't doubt that many of them were sporting their latest acquisitions, many of which had to have had the D&D logo on it.

I didn't bother to enlighten him, but his comment was witnessed by a couple of the D&D brand people and half of R&D.
