The players could, of course, distract them with a bigger and more obvious mess. Perhaps some of the golems have on-off switches. Perhaps sections of the structure are animated. Doors might only allow those wearing the livery of the old lord to pass through them. Chairs might try to eat any stranger that sits in them (similar to some other suggestion).</p><p> </p><p>In solving the various puzzles, the players also have to piece together something of the history of the tower.
