Few Vow of Poverty questions

If you are getting an AC bonus from Vow of Poverty, would it do you any good to cast Magic Vestments on your clothes?

As a monk, I can't figure out why I would take Sanctify Ki Strike instead of Santify Natural Attack (assuming I don't want to later get Holy Ki Strike). What am I missing?

And speaking of Holy Ki Strike, what is up with the prerequisite of "Ki Strike (Holy)"? Is that a mistake?

And speaking of possible mistakes, I am looking at getting the Touch of Golden Ice but it seems a bit unbalanced. Is it true that every unarmed strike I do against an evil creature would force them to make a save or lose Dex?

Any help is much appreciated!

I dont think Magic Vestments would help at all. The armor bonus comes from some intangable source or your god, not your clothes. You could be naked and still recieve the bonuses. If you cast magic vestments on your clothes, they would have a (For example) +3 armor bonus, that would then be over ridden by the armor bonus from the feat.

Take Sanctify Ki Strike so you can later take Holy Ki Strike, thats about it. It makes a little more sense to me anyway.

I always thought the Prerequisites for Holy Ki Strike was a misprint, and should read Ki Strike: Lawful. Someone besides me may know better though.

And lastly... yes, Touch of Golden Ice is over powered. The best way to bring it in line is to make it require a Stunning Fist use each time you wish to activate it.

A Stunning Fist attempt just to make them lose Dex!? What would be the point of that?

Stunning Fist already does that (and more).

Of course, something with a weaker effect has to be useable more often (or have some other benefit).

Magic Vestement most certainly would add armor to your simple clothes... the armor bonus granted by Vow of Poverty is an "exalted bonus" while Magic Vestment is an "enhancement bonus". Just checked this in the books.

The Ki Strike Holy is a mistype... haven't found that type of Kis strike anywhere. The text of Holy Strike has the wierd part about being good aligned... and considered holy ! Never seen DR 5/Holy :)

Golden Ice is overpowered in low to middle levels for sure...later its just a major hassle rolling to check if monsters won't roll a natural "1". If you interpret it literally attacks that don't get "through" but were stopped by natural armor should also spread golden ice !

Touch of Golden ice damages your Dexterity like a poision, not makes you lose your Dex bonus as stunning.

Actually, if you interpret it literally, this Ravage seems to take effect whenever you so much as shake hands with someone that happens to be evil (even if not doing "prosecutable" evil at the time, say a selfish merchant), whether you want the Ravage to take effect or not. :)

Thanks for the help all. Just one more questions: Can a cleric with a Vow of Poverty carry a holy symbol? How about focuses?

It just mentions matrial components, but it's hard to imagine that a (cheap, wooden) holy symbol would not be ok.

Literally, you cannot own anything with a cost, that includes holy symbols and focuses. You might be able to get a holy symbol, that does not have a cost, however (like painting it on your clothing, or whatever), or the DM could just be lenient and allow a single wooden holy symbol, doesn't seem to much of a stretch, really. :D

A simple wooden symbol you carved yourself has no value... so its fine.

Simple spell components too.

If you take everything to the extreme this Vow would be impossible. It becomes a hassle instead of a good roleplaying or game choice if you keep nit picking details.
