Not only does it describe hundreds of folkloric/mythical creatures, it also has indexes sorting them by culture of origin, habitat etc. It's out of print, but used copies are easily found online.She has also written Spirits, Fairies, Leprechauns and Goblins: An Encyclopedia which is in print.
