That chapter also discusses the ecology of fey realms, and which non-fey are likely to cohabitate with them. The taran is an example of a non-fey monster that exists because of the fey. Tarans are undead (they're 'lost souls'), but don't think I could properly convey what they're about here. They're creepy, but they're not meant to gross you out- they're tragic. The Magic weave stuff is the system for giving fey their spell-like abilities. You can build the MM fey pretty closely- to within an ability point or two.  Inspirations for the fey laid out in this book ranged from Folklore and the works of Katherine Briggs, Neil Gaiman's Sandman, various movies like the film Legend, Arthurian legend, etc. That's about as much as I can get into here.
