This is just a funny story that poses a question: When trying to reward your PC's did they ever completely flip the situation? So during a mission to defeat a Necromancer in a far off stolen castle my PC's passed through a forest where a group of Pixies met them to grant them guidance through the forest and assistance if they spoke to the Great Forest Spirit. The Paladin having no trust for Fey creatures didn't want anything to do with them and as he was walking away after insulting them walked into a Tree and Broke a Yew branch. offended the Pixies attacked seeing it as the Paladin trying to hurt the forest. The Paladin gets put to sleep, the Rogue gets tied up and pummeled with sand via druid craft, by the end of about 10 rounds, The Great Forest Spirit shows herself to see tons of dead pixies. After an explanation she resurrects the pixies, makes them apologize and grants the party "The Darts of Wind." It was supposed to be a quick detour some nice flavour maybe story exposition and an example of how heavily magic focused this world is. But they ended up killing like 12 pixies XD. I just thought it was funny especially because the paladin was yelling at the Rogue the whole time "I TOLD YOU NOT TO TRUST THEM." etc. etc. At the end of the mission they reported to the Princess of that Region who penalized them by reducing their gold reward due to an on-running joke in all my Campaigns the Fey Protection Program. Fun stuff :).
