Ok, so this is my first attempt at creating a race for 5e in an attempt to convert over a race used for a persistent world chat game in 3.5. This is not an attempt to actually adapt the Feytouched template from 3.5 as somethings with the fey are handled a bit differently on the chat than in standard. The idea was to create a race that allows people to take an appearance they want but without having to be the actual creature in question. I am not certain if this sits on par with the other races or a little under or over the power line. I would like to give them the full Fey Ancestry like the elves have but coupled with the illusion bit I worry that sleep immunity might be too much. Your feedback is appreciated! Feytouched I am a creature of the Fey Prepare to give your soul away My spell is passion and it is art My song can bind a human heart And if you chance to know my face My hold shall be your last embrace --Brenna Gwyn, The Faerie Lover Unique and Varied The Feytouched do not have a uniform appearance. While some are beautiful to behold others are monstrous. They often carry a feature or two from the parents which makes them a clear relation. Curse or Blessing? The Feytouched can be born to any humanoid race. A common belief is that they are a curse placed upon the couple for offending one of the Sidhe and some take it as a sign of infidelity. Many of these poor creatures are killed at birth to hide the shame or given quietly over to orphanages. Not all take such dark views of these children and love them as they would any other. The people of Rion take the view of these children as a blessing and special gift from a fey who is pleased with them. Rion also according to rumor has the most Feytouched births of anywhere in Criddia. Everywhere and Nowhere As they are born to parents of many races they tend to adopt the culture and customs of those who raise them. Many in time find a connection to the fey who live in the area and some even seek out the Seelie and Unseelie Courts to swear allegiance. Feytouched Traits Your Feytouched character has a number of inborn abilities that are part of the nature of the race.
