Does anyone have this yet? It's from Eden Studios and looks great, but haven't seen anything but the previews here.

It only seems natural that upper level PCs would eventually take a throne or lead an army, and now I hope to put in place some rules for players (and DMs) to follow. Post some of your thoughts on it here, and I will as soon as I get my paws on it. Meow.

Very spiffy looking. I find it a bit worrisome when 'siege' is mis-spelled, even in promotional materials, but I seem to be drawn to typos like a nazgul to the One Ring.

I didn't realize it was out yet. It has been long (very, very long) anticipated, at least by me!

Me too. I was hoping someone has picked it up, as it is on the market at Barnes & Noble (online at least). I thought they would have updated their website for it as I would rather order directly from them, but I may not have that option.

I didn't even think it was back from the printer, yet - I thought I saw Eden post over in the Industry forum that it was off to the printer and we would be seeing it in early November... Hmmm...

Given all my years of playing rpgs, I have yet to see one battle that couldn't be handled with a variant on the normal rules. Also I have seen only two game sessions in which players got into the middle of major battles; one of those was in RuneQuest, the other was in Ars Magica.

If you want a miniatures game, fine, but other than that...

I'm hoping for something more than just mass combat rules -- something akin to what Birthright was for AD&D would be very cool. A way to have large political/geographical units interacting with each other to form a more detailed, active world background.

Forget about it! I'm sorry to say, but methinks that the book is vaporware. Given the fact that it was supposed to be released 2 years ago, I doubt it will ever see the light of day.

Surely the publisher wouldn't put new preview material up if they weren't on the verge of sending it to the printers?

If this was another of those 'is this book even coming out' threads, i'd agree. but it's based on actual progress, so I don't! Although, it does say 'September 2003' and I ain't seen it yet...

Fine dude, but just because your games haven't gone that way doesn't mean other people's won't or that other people's needs and desires don't differ.

According to the stuff I've been told, as well as the chapter openers, this book has something along those lines. I guess we'll just have to wait for the book to see how good it is, or how it compares to Birthright (which I never looked at)

edit: to add extra responses. Postcount means nothing!
