I've been looking through the fiend folio, and I've run across several constructs that have bonus hit points listed. For instance, the hit dice for the blackstone gigant (p.21) are listed as being 32d10+60 (236 hp). Since constructs have no constitution, where is this "+60" coming from? More importantly, looking at the Maug (p.121), I see it has hit dice listed as 2d10+30. Once again, as a construct, I have no idea where the "+30" is coming from. To complicate the issue, I would like to give a maug character classes (doing this is recommended in the monster's description, in fact), but am uncertain whether or not the bonus hit points listed are a "one time" thing, or should be applied every level (dividing the initial bonus by the initial number of hit dice suggests that a maug would recieve a whopping 15 extra hit points per level, without a constitution score!). Looking for information within the fiend folio and other books has not revealed anything, other than the fact that constructs do not have constitution scores, and thus should not have bonus hit points (all of the constructs I've looked at in non-Fiend Folio sources have NOT had such bonus hit points, making believe this is an error by the Fiend Folio's authors). Could someone clue me in as to what the deal is?
