Fifth Element Games is pleased to announce special sale prices for three of our older products for the remainder of 2006. If you liked A Skill for Everything, be sure to check these out! Background Levels http://enworld.rpgnow.com/product_info.php?products_id=7615& No longer must a character's past and present be one in the same. Now you can play a rags-to-riches beggar-turned-fighter, a soldier who has taken up the ways of a ranger, a lifelong criminal who has changed his ways, or a lonely scholar seeking out adventure. Add new depth to your characters with Background Levels! Inside this book you will find information on 14 different backgrounds with which to enhance your character's past. Are you tired of shallow 1st-level characters? Do you wish that the background you developed for your character could have some game effect beyond a few ranks in a skill or two? Do you wonder why an aristocratic fighter receives the same amount of money as one who grew up on the streets? With this 33-page, bookmarked PDF, your character's background can have real game effects, even at 1st level. Perhaps your wizard was once a craftsman's apprentice, or comes from a merchant family. Maybe your cleric grew up in the saddle, or on the seas. Background Levels allows the details to truly become a part of your character. What's more, a character can opt to "go back to his roots" and advance levels in his background! Regular price $4.00, on sale now for $3.00. Alignment Paragons http://enworld.rpgnow.com/product_info.php?products_id=7819& From Fifth Element Games, Alignment Paragons presents nine new paragon classes, one for each alignment. Each alignment paragon class has 5 levels, and its own unique mix of abilities, from the lawful good paragon's Sworn Oath, to the chaotic evil paragon's Maim ability. This 16-page PDF is fully bookmarked. Regular price $2.00, on sale now for $1.50. Party Synergy http://enworld.rpgnow.com/product_info.php?products_id=7688& Successful adventuring is a cooperative exercise. Parties who cannot work together, or do not at least have complementary skills and abilities, do not often last. However, the d20 System(tm) provides only a few rules which actually allow for in-game modifiers based on cooperative actions. Options such as the aid another action are useful and realistic, but they are too few and lack in colour and excitement. When aiding another character on a skill check, you can provide your ally with a +2 bonus to their check. That's nice, but it's not terribly interesting. Party Synergy provides rules for many specific situations in which characters can cooperate (called synergy maneuvers), with specific game effects. It takes the concept of skill synergy to a new level. When characters perform certain actions in concert, they receive benefits that exceed the simple sum of the parts. The central mechanic of the party synergy system is the new Share Knowledge skill. This skill, in addition to giving access to the various synergy maneuvers, allows one character to coach and train another in a particular skill, giving the other character a bonus that lasts several rounds, or even allowing the other character to increase his ranks in the skill – without having to advance a level. In addition to the Share Knowledge skill, this 8-page PDF presents 13 synergy maneuvers, from the defensive Shield Wall, to the offensive Phalanx, to the grueling Superior Forced March. Regular price $1.25, on sale now for $0.75.
