All the required information as far as Gate is concerned is in the MM and PH, as it happens. Also, aren't all 3.x books currently out of print, by the way? I'm not up to speed on this. I am not arguing that DMing high level 3.x isn't challenging or that fighters are usually just as hard as MUs to adjudicate. What I - and most others on the OP's wavelength contend - is that the issue with spell casters is frequently exaggerated or simply mis-ruled.That is your assertion.
