You forget the time resource as well. I can still go out and adventure while my simulacrum sits at home and crafts. To be fair though, I would buy N'raac interpretation of the xp. That seems like a very elegant way to plug the hole. However, on racial abilities, you're saying that a Simulacrum would never have, say, Darkvision. Really? A simulacrum dwarf lacks darkvision? How is that a duplicate? Duplicate, to you guys, means, "Umm, sort of copy, but, not really"? But, again, this is precisely what I'm talking about. Every single interpretation will always be the most disadvantageous to the player. Duplicate no longer means copy. The rules are silent, therefore, it's not included. They don't mention that the duplicate has internal organs either, so, is my duplicate more a golem? Is the duplicate subject to racial specific spells? Can you use Charm Person on a Simulacrum of a humanoid? Hold person? Is a simulacrum Glabrezu affected by a Holy Word spell? It's no longer aligned at all is it? After all, alignment is not mentioned in the spell, therefore it has no alignment. Neat way to make demonic assassins. Excellent way to bypass a lot of things actually. Darn near better than a golem, for a heck of a lot cheaper. Immune to all mind affecting spells, after all, it doesn't say that the creature has a mind, therefore, it must be mindless, despite being able to act completely on its own. Immune to any alignment based effects. Who needs Shield Golems? I'd much rather get a couple of hairs from that buried hero and craft me up a perfectly nasty body guard. 1000 xp for a 10th level fighter completely immune to charm? Fantastic. Sign me up. Thanks guys, I get a much more powerful spell because of your interpretations than I otherwise would. You guys are all right.
