Finished a Story Hour!

the Jester

Legend
Hey folks, I'm just very happy to have finished chronicling my entire halfling campaign in story hour form! Hurray!!

It's pretty funny and fun throughout- it's linked in my sig, but here it is anyhow: Of Sound Mind the Halfling Way.

It starts with the excellent module Of Sound Mind, written by our own beloved Piratecat, follows the party through a jam contest with a suspicious halfling-made entry that led to them making a profound enemy, adventured to the Asylum of Advanced Mental Treatment where they let a bunch of loonies loose, got put on trial, tracked down a serial killer, destroyed a dire beaver dam and flooded a town, left the continent and got shipwrecked on some isolated islands where the party's kobold got married in a shotgun wedding and they heard a prophecy that started them on the quest for the halfling Promised Land, escaped those islands with the help of a whale, dealt with a provincial governor who declared himself king, fell into the grip of some mind flayers, strove against Lord Obliviax, and at last returned full circle to find the Promised Land. (I left a lot out, obviously... ;))

It kicks ass to have finished it, from beginning to end. :)

Sounds like a good read!

I'll definitely page through it all printed out while I should be working on my own campaign (or an essay :( )

I'm going to be starting a story hour of my own soon, hopefully, so this should be an especially good read.

Congratulations!

I bet the majority of story hours here (and elsewhere) are never finished. You're in rarefied air.

Most all mine make it to their end. My Early Years SH hasn't, really, but it's huge and when I find the right piece of campaign art it's still in progress and I'll post the next installment. The only one that I've really abandoned is my White Knight one- I couldn't keep sufficient focus on it, as I'm a player in the campaign, not the dm.

Congrats! :)

I hope to join you with a finished SH, but I'm just at around the halfway mark on my first one, so it's going to be several more years at minimum before I'm done (and I've majorly slowed down to a crawl since I've started the freelance thing).

I am not sure it qualifies as a story hour, but typing up what happened in a session is part of my preparation work for the next session. That way, my campaign chronicles are always up to date.

Although since I only recently - this year - started doing illustrations for my campaign chronicles means I still have 2 campaign chronicles going on where I need to add illustrations to the past chapters.
