Please take a little time to read this thread. We've recieved a lot of positive feedback and help from ENWorld members over the last two years and want to share out some of the lovin' - without you guys we probably wouldn't have got this far!
First, let me introduce our company to those who do not know us.
Malladin's Gate Press is a small PDF publisher run by two veteran gamers from the North West of England. Malladin's Gate Press is just about to turn two next month and over the last two year's we've managed to produce a number of well received products, mainly specialising in the class-book area - we were first to publish a class book specifically for the Paladin and Sorcerer and as yet have (I believe) the only classbook available for abjurers. We also have possibly the only class-specific full supplement for the D20 Modern game, covering both the Strong and Fast Hero classes. We've even had a go at providing some new basic classes. That said, our best reviewed product remains DarkLore, our dark fantasy campaign setting and toolkit. If I were to sell our company for its strongest points, I'd say we're best at innovative rules with flavourful fluff to support it.
Malladin's Gate opperates in what I'd call the second tier of the PDF market place (the small but relatively successful companies operating just below the big Platinum vendors), alongside the likes of Spencer Cooley, Throwing Dice, Bloodstone, Silverthorne and some others (apologies for anyone I've missed).
Over the last two years we've been overwhelmed with the responses we've got from reviewers and community members here at ENWorld. Enworld provides a great nuturing community for new publishers. We've had some great help and advice from a number of the 'big guys' that post here; Hellhound, Hal and Doug at Mystic Eye, Phil Reed and Joseph Goodman, not to mention Morrus himself. We've also had good relations with others at the same tier of the PDF market (hell, we probably wouldn't have got started without Sigil's amazing review of Forgotten Heroes: Paladin). But that's not to belittle the support from other members of the boards. We've posted a number of queries regarding our future products and have got a great response. Questions about what people would like to see, what they think of this idea or that system, technical questions about epublishing. We have always recieved polite and, more importantly, constuctive replies - even when critical.
So here's a great big THANKS to everyone here at ENWorld for their support and constructive advice over the last two years.
Anyway, to celebrate our two year birthday we're going to have a big massive sale until the end of September. All out products will be reduced to half price for this period, so for those of you who haven't heard of us, why not pick something up for a steal and see if we're up to scratch.
Here's and overview of our products:
Forgotten Heroes: Paladin
SALE PRICE $3.25
Reviews Page : Purchase Page
Our first product, unfortunately completely without art, but provides a great insight into the paladin class and loads of new options. There's new types of Smite, new ways to channel turn undead attempts, new weapions and quest rules as well as teh feats and PrCs you'd expect from a class book.
Forgotten Heroes: Sorcerer
SALE PRICE $3.25
Reviews Page : Purchase Page
After Paladin, our most successful product. As with Forgotten Heroes: Paladin, this provides you with a great range of new options for the Sorcerer class. There's a new sorcerous warrior basic class, new systems for sponateous spellcasters and a new way for creating magic items which suits the sorcerer's concept and much more.
Academy Handbook: St. John's College of Abjuration
SALE PRICE $3.25
Reviews Page : Purchase Page
Our second book and still short on art. This book is twofold, providing both a drop-in setting (a magic school done well before Redhurst
) and a class book for Abjurers. New systems, classes and feats for Abjuration specialists as well as a setting you can fit easily into and campaign.
Unearthed Adventurers: Volume I
SALE PRICE $3.75
Reviews Page : Purchase Page
This book introduces two new character basic classes. Both are designed to be as flexible as the classes from the main rulebooks. Each class also has a wide range of support, from new feats, skills and prestige classes, to spells and info on playing them in the game, including multiclass options.
DarkLore Campaign Primer
SALE PRICE $2.50
Reviews Page : Purchase Page
According to the reviews, this is our best product. It is a dark fantasy campaign setting which can also be used as a toolkit for similar games if you don't choose to use our world. It's full of flavour and new systems that you can easily adapt to your own games.
Also, please note that this product is dedicated to the long-term support of ENWorld - our way of saying thanks to the whole community.
Modern Heroes: Martial Avengers
SALE PRICE $3.75
Reviews Page : Purchase Page
When D20 Modern came out it was natural for us to turn our attention to providing a series of class books. Martial Avengers perhaps came a little later than we would have hoped, but we think we've got a great product with tons of cinematic action flavour to add that gung-ho feel to your D20 Modern game.
Thanks for taking the time to read this thread.
