I know it’s late in the day now, but how do folks feel about April Fool’s releases for TTRPGs?
For me, it’s a time-honored tradition of tomfoolery that I rather enjoy. In campaigns that I run and play in, I typically prefer epic story arcs and more realistic world continuity, but there’s always a place for silly jokes, nonsense, and maybe even the occasional breaking of the 3rd wall.
And now that I’m in game design myself, it would be remiss of me not to throw my own content into the mix on this auspicious day. While not a prank exactly, Secret Society of the Tahnguar is probably as close as I would let myself get to the absurd and still consider using it unaltered in my games.
