Shiller from Untergaurd was going to be assinated for some old obscure magic artifact that was captured from his adventuring days with the "Spear of Order". While heading down to save him, the PCs had a run in with a duellist and 3 lackeys. They weren't for sure if they were the would be hired guns or not. So they talked, made nice, and seperated ways. Unfortunately, they were the assassins, and the assassins knew them also, and set up a simple ambush. Now the funny part, I had Rufio Delmargo (duellist) fire both pistols on the biggest badass looking PC, hitting him in the head twice, and damn near killing him. The lackeys fired xbows and missed. Then Rufio pulled his rapier and charged on horseback at the PC retreating into the woods. He rolled a ride check to make it through a mad dwarven tollkeeper, and the brush, and rolled a 00. So then I had him roll an agility roll for being able to stay on the falling horse, and he was okay, but right in the midst of the PCs!
