I would say dump the 7th level fighter subclass stuff. It’s trash. Give them something good or great. At 5th they got a second attack. (Nice) their buddies got Third level spells. Then sixth they get an ASI. Between the two they caught up to third level spells IMO as far as fun is concerned. But when they hit seventh their buddies get 4th level spells like banishment and they get 1/2 proficiency on untrained physical skills?!? That is grotesque. It’s an injustice. This is when stuff like BANISHMENT comes into play. How about stickyness? Enemies must make saves to move into or out of threatened squares failure means they take damage.(and stay put?) falls to the DM to track player gets to roll damage for nothing. (Easy enough?) Or mobility? Fighters can not be subject of AOO their defense is too good. Social: Fighters are scary Create charm or fear effect against sentient creature. Charm friendly creatures because you pose a threat to their enemies or Intimidate people (charm) into cooperation. (Doesn’t work on PC’s)the fear effect would repell and weaken opposition. More social: Fighters grant Temporary HP to allies by using second wind? Or exploration:( if you want blood) on a failed ability check (using a skill) the fighter can take damage to get a success.( IE you got a 10 on an athletics check but you needed a 15 you can take 5 damage and get a success instead of failing.) like jumping over a chasm and making a hard landing instead of falling to your death. ( it could be capped by level or open ended) More exploration (destructive search like a bull in a china shop) a fighter can ransack an area granting himself advantage on a search check but making a lot of noise. And possibly damaging fragile items like potion bottles. Give two of these at level seven and I would be ecstatic.
