As a side note, I'm really disappointed that we didn't get more dragon themed subclasses in this book. Seriously, no Great Wyrm Warlock Patron!?!? Sure, it would be the most "complicated" Warlock subclass in the game if you did it right (and by that, I mean splitting the Expanded Spell List table into multiple different options for different sub-subclass choices, like how Genie Patron Warlocks get to choose one of the 4 different genie types to determine class features and spell lists added. You would at least have to do 15 different sub-subclasses, one for each of the true dragons, and detail spell lists and features that they get), but it would be freaking awesome! What about an Eragon-inspired Dragon Rider Fighter subclass with a Tasha's-style Dragon Animal Companion?!?! Screw the Drakewarden, I want to be able to ride my dragon before level 15! I want my dragon to get different features dependent on what dragon type you choose! I want the dragon to be able to speak telepathically with me, and to have a magical "birthmark/dragonmark" that the dragon can enter as an extradimensional space! In depth tables and guidelines for your complicated and personal relationship with the dragon, like how they might mess up your dating life or act as a sort of "Shoulder Angel" (or maybe even Shoulder Devil!). I want a Charisma-based Fighter Subclass, goddammit! We have enough Intelligence based ones (EK, Psi-Warrior, Arcane Archer), now give some love to Charisma and Wisdom-based Fighter subclasses! Or a Dragon-Rage Barbarian! Mixture of Path of the Beast and Path of the Totem Warrior where you gain different physical attributes based on what dragon you choose to exemplify during your rage (like a Sea-Serpent to get gills and a swimming speed, or a Wyvern to sprout wings, or a Drake to get a ferocious bite attack and burrow speed!). Let you speak Draconic so loudly and fiercely that you sound like a full-grown dragon and make people wet themselves in terror! Dragon-Domain Cleric, anyone? Be the Murder-Hobo of all Murder-Hoboes as a leader of the Cult of Tiamat! Blind people with the shininess of your god-dragon-king's platinum scales as a Templar of Bahamut! Or Circle of Dragons Druid that transforms into dragons? What about an update for the Draconic Bloodline Sorcerer that lets you be descended from a Gem Dragon and gives you Tasha's-style Always-Known spell lists? I mean, seriously, who at Wizards of the Coast was assigned to create subclasses for a Dragon Sourcebook, looked over the classes in the game that don't have Dragon-based subclasses (so, all of them except Sorcerer), and said "hey! I love everything else about the book that I have heard so far, but this part still grates me. We could have had some of the most awesome subclasses possible added to the game, but instead we got a dragon-themed pokemon master Ranger and a "I punch with 5 Elements!" Monk. Oh well. Maybe if this book does well (which it will) they'll eventually add more draconic subclasses in the game. It just sucks that we're not getting a Dragon-Patron Warlock as cool as the Undead-Patron Warlock (Imagine how awesome it would be to have a Form of Dread-style Draconic Avatar feature for a Dragon-Patron Warlock!
