Ok, I love pandemonium but I hate parking in Harvard Square. I'm up in stoneham and I'd rather drive somewhere north of the city, preferably with a parking lot.

Anybody????

How north is north....

I live in Portsmouth, NH, probably a 45 minute drive for you.

Go to JumpGate on Rt 1 (Easy Directions: I-95 North to Exit 3. Left at ramp. Left at McDonalds onto Ocean Road, go to the end, White Birch plaza is on your right, Jumpgate is right there. Aobut 3 miles all told off the highway).

Remember it might be a little further north, but you also pay no Sales Tax....

So, park at a T station, and take the train. We've got a good public transit system for jsut this reason. Use it!

Nah, only thing worse than finding a parking space is taking the T.

Besides, I need something I can go to quickly. When I have plenty of time, then I'll try to park in the square.

No, the only thing worse than finding a parking space is not getting your gaming goodies.

And folks wonder why the US sucks down more petrol than half the rest of the world combined? This is why. People forget that public transportation is their friend. It gets you where you want to go. It costs less than the parking. But no, we need our blasted instant gratification...

Taking the T to harvard square requires my driving to Alewife (which is practically the whole way there from here) paying 4.50 to park, and a dollar each way on the T for a total of 6:50 plus gas.

If I go with my wife that total jumps to 8.50 That's half a gaming suppliment. I'd rather find a gaming shop near me that I can drive to. Everybody in my car uses deodorant, gets a seat and doesn't have to wait for the next car to come into the station.

When I worked in the city, I took public transportation. If my next job is in the city, I'll do it again. But, when I'm out shopping I'll drive and be on my schedule and my freedom to go where I want when I want.

It was different when I lived in medford or somerville and I'd happily just ride my bike to the square. Now that's too far when I just want to take a quick trip and then get home to prepare for the next game.....
