Here are all the starting starship options presented as possible Group Resources in the 3 core books, re-skinned for our post-Galactic Civil War / pre-Force Awakens era of play: Commandeered Lambda-Class Shuttle Most of the Resistance's resources are not built or purchased, but instead stolen from the Imperial Remnant or appropriated from smugglers once aligned with the Empire. The T-4a Lambda-class long range shuttle is a slow, yet sturdy and reliable cargo and transport vessel once used by the Empire, and still used by the First Order on its more distant outposts. Provided they have forged First Order ID codes, parties that want a reliable way of getting around areas of the galaxy under First Order occupation should choose the Lambda-class shuttle (AoR, page 273). Firespray System Patrol Craft The Firespray (EotE, page 255) was considered a revolutionary design in patrol craft when first constructed during the waning years of the Old Republic, and is a good choice for smaller groups looking to pursue careers in bounty hunting or enforcement (and perhaps piracy). The ship has tough armor and powerful drives, and starts out with a relatively potent weaponry loadout. However, its small size makes it a poor choice for moving cargo. G9 Rigger Light Freighter Already considered an antique at the outset of the Clone Wars, Corellian Engineering Corporation's G9 Rigger-class light freighter (F&D, page 262) is a rare sight in modern space lines. A small unremarkable blocky craft, the G9 is a solid utilitarian short-to-medium range hauler. It offers few amenities and only basic defenses. What it lacks in frills, however, it more than makes up for in reliability, sturdiness, and ease of repair. So well-built are these ancient freighters that in the Outer Rim many still operate quite well, either with much of the original equipment or else with spare parts easily found on most planets. Wayfarer Medium Transport This ship is good for larger groups, as it has ample room for crew, passengers, and lots of cargo. It's a larger and less maneuverable vessel, so it can't easily mix it up with starfighters. Groups with an enthusiastic and dedicated pilot character may want to look elsewhere. However, groups that just need a tough ship that can haul cargo, explore the galaxy, and take a beating should consider the Wayfarer (page 263). YT-1300 Light Freighter One of the most common light freighters in the galaxy, the YT-1 300 certainly pushed Corellian Engineering Corporation into center stage. The YT-1 300 is quick, rugged, and almost endlessly modifiable. Besides being identifiably iconic, the YT-1 300 (EotE, page 264) is a good starship to start groups off with because it can perform well in a variety of roles. It can haul cargo, or with some modifications, can be upgunned or hot -rodded into a smuggling or bounty hunting vessel. If you want to select a starship not listed here, we can discuss. Probably a starting guideline would be <120,000 credits, max. Rarity 5.
