A battle matt that could handle wet and dry erase markers? One that could handle permanent markers? When folded, it's like a standard sheet of paper and easy to store. When unfolded, it's like three across and three down, so it's relatively small when compared to some matts I've seen. It's approximately 24" by 30". What's worse, is that at first, you'll have to deal with the creases in the map, which aren't too difficult as you can fold it backwards so to speak and remove them. In my playtest, we wound up taping it down, which worked well.The matts have a little bit of color to them, and some design, almost like a semi-faded scroll, so they're good looking. I can imagine them doing other themed matts like say frost or desert and perhaps having some of the art from the old SkeletonKey Games artists on 'em. Another benefit to the matt, is that it's double sided. We have good old squares on one side, and hexes on the other.In the game I used it in, we first tried a good old vis-a-vis wet erase marker. It would not come off with the old dry eraser but with some elbow grease and a dry towel, it came off with no problem. With a little water, it cleaned up in seconds but was a little messy, like all wet erase markers are. For the dry erase, there were no issues. Rubbed off in seconds.Interestingly enough, I don't know if it was planned this way, but the white space around the tiles is 1", enough to overlay this on another battle matt if you've got a larger dungeon and keep working, which is what we did. I would like to see something of this matt's nature with some ability to link other matts to it outside of just lining them up.The only problem I had with the matt in play, were the folds and those can be taken care of. Storage is great on this thing. One of the best things about the matt though, outside of being able to use any marker, outside of having hexes on one side and squares on the other, is that it's inexpensive. At $10, you can have several of them and predraw the map ahead of time in wet erase, not worry about it rubbing off during transport (one problem with Tact-Tiles), and lay down the tiles and have your game ready.If you're looking for a new matt or want an extra for little encounters like a wilderness encounter, towers or tombs, the flip matt is a great product.</blockquote>
