Footwork Lure and Passing Attack

Well, you're not allowed to shift into enemy squares in general, and I don't see anything in the text of those two powers that suggest otherwise. Did you have a specific scenario in mind?

Can you shift the enemy two squares if you have a reach weapon?

If so, do you choose what route they take?

What if you have a power that adds 1 square to the distance you shift someone? I know they have to end in the square you started, but could you shift them the additional square before they reach the destination square that you originally occupied?

Footwork Lure specificies a specific square you slide the creature into. You can neither increase nor decrease the amount of squares you slide them(though they can use something that prevents a slide altogether, and you can choose no not slide them at all).

If you have a power that increases how far you shift when you use another power(would have to be a free action), then you don't necessarily have to be adjacent to the creature after you slide it to where you are.

Why not? Footwork Lure specifies the destination square you slide them into, but it does not specify the route you have to take to get to that destination square.

Also, if I have a reach weapon, I MUST slide them into a square other than the destination square...because they don't teleport there, they have to slide through some other square before they get there.

I didn't mean shifting. I meant what if you have a power that lets you add one to the slide.

"You can shift 1 square and slide the target into the space you left."

"The space you left" can be two squares away from the target if you are using a reach weapon to hit it, therefore it certainly does appear that you can shift your enemy two squares if you have a reach weapon.

There are some restrictions on how you can move it (PHB p. 285), but what route it takes otherwise isn't specified. I guess it'd be up to the Fighter.

If you can't shift to the target square with the given amount of movement, then the movement doesn't happen. So no footwork lure with a reach weapon.

Because you slide them to a specific square, effects that increase or decrease the amount slid don't make sense. If you the power with a normal weapon, and something that increases the amount of the slide, they either end up in a square other than the square you started in, or they end up taking a weird route. Now there's nothing RAW that prevents you from using some wierd route for a slide, you just have to get it past your GMs BS detector :)

On an interesting note, you can use forced movement on a creature through any square he could walk to. So you can push, pull or slide a creature through it's allies squares.
