For those who missed it

Upon revisiting Children of the Grave's site, I have found that the offending comments have been removed in an obvious attempt to avoid embarrassment, and have been replaced with a pile of inoffensive and meaningless drivel. Fortunately I archived the original post, which I will share with you here:

October 29th, 2001: I am back after taking a week to tending the new d20 publishers' forum. While at first I was skeptical as to how they would be used, I now feel vindicated in creating them. Not only did I manage to lure the unsuspecting d20 system providers into the same forum, I did so with the purpose of sizing up the competition to see what CotG is in for. May I say that I'm glad certain publishers made themselves known to me, along with their thoughts on the use of the forums, because now I know ever to waste my time with them. While it's a long shot to say I've made a few enemies, may I say that this is better suited than any of those people ever pretending to be my friends. Moreover, they were more than willing to stick out their reputations just to slay me and my industry image. Now it may be some time before they see their error, but it may be not much time at all before I start seeing the rewards of that error.

Just to touch a little more on that point, several gamers (and at least one retailer) have stated their disinterest in buying any products from those publishers, and I have to say that their reputations are hopelessly ruined to the eyes of the gaming public.

Question of the day: "How many birds did I kill with one stone?" I was laughing all day about this, and so far I think I've felled at least twenty birds with these new forums. Not only did I slay the competition (who created copycat forums), I allowed several publishers to put their feet in their mouths (all on public record), met some new and interesting folks, put up a help wanted ad, crafted a proposal for the entire industry to use, made some new contacts, and gave freelancers a place to post their services! In the timespan of a week, I have made my company the most talked (and joked) about publisher in the industry. Now comes the great part where they have to take us seriously.

Answer to your question: The only bird you killed with your stone was yourself. Enjoy the infamy my friend!

Did I not just close a thread on this very topic, started by you?

May I ask why you thought that meant it was OK to just start a new one? Because you thought I needed more practice at closing threads? Because you thought that I just don't have enough work to do?

That was a rhetorical question. You won't be able to answer, because this thread is being closed too. Please don't start another thread on this subject.
