I've been playing D&D for more than 30 years. I made my first CS on a computer back in 1985 on an Atari ST. It was a joke compared to FA's CS, but it was OK. I've played with better CS spreadsheets than FA's, but not for 5e. I had a friend that made one for 3.5 and then Pathfinder. They were definitely superior to FA's. He's since retired from designing CS's due to family obligations. Darn shame! The reason I mention the above is that I have many years of experience with D&D and computer versions of CS. So I think I can say with some small measure of authority that the D&D Beyond CS doesn't "suck". Some of the people here may not like it, but it's more than adequate for about 95% of people who play D&D 5E. In many ways it is superior to any spreadsheet based CS. And in most ways it's more user friendly and easier to access since it doesn't require a spreadsheet program. As an aside, I think the D&D Beyond CS (and its supporting structure) might be much better for all the people who keep asking someone (who?) to send them the latest version of FA's CS to their email address. These people won't even take the time go back a few pages and find the instructions on how to acquire it! How will they find the time to actually work out how FA's CS functions properly? Jeepers! One more thing. I LOVE FA's CS. I started using it back in version 1.51, maybe even an earlier version. I do have a CS from Nov 2015 that's 1.51 still in our communal DropBox D&D folder.
