There is no canon info on the nature of the dwarven hold nestled in the Lost Peaks. There is non-canon stuff but I'm not sure that's what people are looking for.
That hold was founded by a clan fleeing the fall of Besilmer - Clan Tandarmorr if that interests you - which was isolated from other clans that fled into the southern High Forest and the protection of Sharrven and thence to found Ammarindar.
What "vastly different timelines" are you looking to reconcile? The reference in the right up of Besilmer in FR11 to the Fallen Kingdom relates to the Ironstar dwarves, not the Besilmer dwarves.
The Lost Peaks were not within the territory of Eaerlann, but rather Siluvanede. The dwarves there hid themselves by use of powerful rune magic and had almost no contact with anyone outside their clanhold. Finally, after many, many years the elves finally did discover them and the ones who found them were ... bad. And did bad things. The hold was called Rornfaern.
