Forgotten Realms - Pick a Prestige Class

First Post
I'm going to run an online (MapTool) Forgotten Realms game based on the new mega adventure trilogy (Cormyr/Shadowdale/Anauroch). We have several campaigns going on right now, so for this one I (again) wanted to try something different.

Rather than create a character from scratch I asked everyone to pick a Prestige Class first. Characters must be design so they can enter the PrC as soon as possible. Characters cannot exit the prestige class until they finish it.

I sent the group this list for an overview:

http://www.candlekeep.com/library/articles/prc.htm

Which prestige classes do you think are "most appropriate" for this series of adventures? Granted, the second and third books have not come out yet but which PrCs would be good for these regions? I'm looking of the most regional appropriate PrCs.

Also, I don't have the Cormyr book yet, so does anyone know if there are any PC options in the book at all? Any suggestions in the book for PrCs?

This is the first time I've required Prestige Classes for everyone in the group. I'm hoping it helps bring out the flavor of the campaign setting. Has anyone done anything like this? How did it work out?

First it would depend on the alignment or temperament of the players. If they are goodly or noble in their ambitions, then the Purple Dragon Knights or War Wizard of Cormyr types would work well.

If they are a bit in the grey area, then Shadow Adepts or Underdark types might suite (based on the Drow activities in that region).

If they are more dark in their natures, then Thayan types, Zentarim, or Evil Underdark types might work well.

My choice, without further info would be a Shadow Adept (Wizard), or even a Red Wizard.

That's pretty brutal. many classes are not at their strongest if you enter them as soon as you can.

They will be good (my requirement) so I'll suggest these for the fighter guy and the arcanist guy. Any suggestions for cleric and rogue types? Anything from Shadowdale or Anauroch?

I'm only gonna focus on Cormyr with this post...

Any of the Cormyr-specific prestige classes from Dragon (#307): Battlepriest, Council Mage, Noble Adventurer, Moon Drover, Royal Scout.

Not to mention the Purple Dragon Knight and War Wizard prestige classes.

Other potential options: Arcane Archer, Cavalier, Combat Medic, Court Herald, Dread Commando, Dread Pirate, Duelist, Harper Agent, Harper Mage, Harper Priest, Loremaster, Outlaw of the Crimson Road, Royal Explorer, Spymaster, Tactical Soldier, Watch Detective, and any applicable PrCs from Faiths&Pantheons.
