Does anyone know the origins of the Phaerimm and Sharn? Where did they originally come from? They certainly don't seem like native creatures. What are the Sharn's goals on Faerun? Do the Phaerimm have a greater goal other them the standard "take over the world" one? Why do they hate each other so much? When did they first come to Faerun? And anything else anyone knows on these two mysterious races would be immesnely appreciated. I did find this tidbit, but it only adds to the mystery: *** Fields of the Dead: The area now known as the Fields of the Dead has been a battlefield since the earliest days of Faerûn, long centuries before the reign of the dragons and thousands of years before the arrival of the elves and dwarves. In the earliest days, when only the deities and the Eldest Races walked or flew above the oceans and lands of Toril, the sharn and the phaerimm fought a great war in the mountains of what would become the west coast of Faerûn. As the phaerimm's magic cascaded off the sharn's shields, the land beneath the battle warped and shrank. Mountains that had formerly soared to scrape the foundations of the homes of the divine powers collapsed in upon themselves until they turned into low hills. The great western mountain range of Faerûn disappeared, seen only in garbled visions of the cataclysmic past, by seers who misstep while viewing the future.*** The above can be found here: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/article.asp?x=fr/fx20020703rt Seems they have a far older history then I ever suspected. Perhaps somehow involved with the Creator Races? Anyway, they are involved in a game I'm DM'ing and I like to follow canon on such things and I don't want my "history" to conflict with what's already out there (I'm one of two DM's in my group, that's why I don't feel totally free to warp, plus I just like to keep that consistant feel :) )
