Forsaken

Legend
Forsaken is a campaign model I have been working on for about a year now to be my first D20 Modern game and I wanted to see what people think of the root concept for the game...

FORSAKEN

We have hidden ourselves among you for millennia
Hunting our own children…
…and sometimes each other
Now we are called back to fulfill our ancient duty
We are the Forsaken

In Forsaken the players take on the role of Fallen Angels that have begun to awaken in the modern world. For thousands of years they have remained hidden among humanity, silently hunting their bastard offspring, the Nephilim, angel/human hybrids that have hunted and fed on humanity for ages. The Nephilim are half fiendish or Celestial beasts of tremendous power and frightening motivation. The Forsaken must also confront Demons and less than benevolent Angels working to further their own agendas. Of course the undead exist, hiding and controlling things in the background.

The world can be summed up in a few sentences. A little less than 2000 years ago God died on a stick. He made a miscalculation in his plans and failed to understand the frailty of the human condition. There was no coming back. This spiritual void caused humanity to enter into a dark period of godless corruption. During this period a cabal of men and what they thought were angels entered into a pact to resurrect God. The angels (actually Demons of the World of Shells) initiated the men into the ways of magic and introduced corruption into the hearts of these men and their descendants.

Other religions were created to combat this dark cult but all lost their initial insight and fell to war with each other over time.

The Forsaken are the angels who rebelled against God at the dawn of time. They were not cast into hell and did not become the demons of myth though. They were charged to watch over humanity and to hunt the products of their original failure, the Nephilim. Life after life went by, the Forsaken bid their time and lived in silence, hidden from the eyes of humanity.

Now the world of man has fallen into darkness so deep that they need the Forsaken to climb out of the quagmire. The Cabal has succeeded in giving power to a Demon prince and made him a god. The world of Nightmare’s has begun to creep into the waking world and the monsters of the night have begun to assert their control over the humans.

More basic ideas on this from a less fictiony stand point.

To be an Angel the players must take a feat that grants them access to feat chains that give them their angelic powers over time. They get no other bonuses for being angels except the feats that give them access to their powers as I don't want to deal too much with ECLs and Level Adjustments.

Aasimar and Tiefling will be available races as Nephilim races. Can anybody tell what the stats are for these two in D20 Modern????

Magic will be a like Cthulhu magic, no levels and players must make a skill check to cast spells. Certain spells will cause permanent damage to a character.

Some advanced and prestige classes would be angelic orders, magical orders etc. with Prestige classes to represent the elite in those orders.

Just a few notes and ideas... what do you all think????

Oh yeah, COPYRIGHT BIZATCHES!!!

It isn't a gaming product. It is a comic book idea but I am using it as a homebrew campaign for D20 Modern. I just wanted opinions.
