Seeing as how the mods have various pets, I was wondering if it would be possible for us, as forumites, to also get pets. If my experience with Enworld has taught me anything it's that forum pets get to :):):):) all over the rug and the mods will rage out on you if you call them on it. Mods HATE IT when you point out that their forum pets have shat all about the place and shat all over other peoples threads. Because, you know forum pets are cute and cuddly and oh so adorable or something. And they keep them company. You know, the impartial mods and all. So, I was curious if it were possible to somehow link the concept of pets in D&D with a forum based D&D experience. I mean, let's not kid ourselves here. We're ALL aware of the favored pets but heaven help you if you name names. Still, it would be interesting to frame it in terms of d&d in the same way the game frames pets. An example of something similar would be how a business owner would cast "Lawyer" on an opposing business owner. A mod here could cast "You must respect my authoritay" but would then "share spell" with a particular forum pet. This would mean the forumites would have to allow the forum pet to treat them like :):):):) because the forum pet is protected by the mods "Respect my authoritay" in the same vein as the mod himself. So the forum pet could ridicule, attack, and sneer at anyone they liked but any response in kind would warrant a demand for civility from the moderator. Try it. You might find that the 3.5 system lends itself spectacularly to the real world in the most esoteric of circumstances.
