Intrigue eh? Well here's a few tidbits I think will "whet" your appetite. 1) The Armies of the Dead, via Myrkul's Legion, have decided to come "out" of retirement. This is mostly due to the fact of the machinactions of a new power in the Undermountain. Specifically, the dreaded Warlock half fiend (formerly fully human) known only as "the First of Orcus". He has, thanks to being obsequious and also making back door deals with Halaster, his former apprentices now residing above ground AND also cohersing the Skulls of Skullport, gained great power and prestige, making all sorts of undead, things never seen before. Indeed it is rumored his army is going to need more bodies in the coming war against the Scourged Legions. But what does this have due with the Legion? They merely wish to try to take over said army and try to take back by force the Crown of Horns which now is back in Blackstaff's Residence. So now the PCs have THREE factions they must deal with. 2) The Tel'Lurria are in dire straits. The El are finding and killing many of their operatives, along with Harper agents. There's a turn coat in the group. The PCs, being of neutral origin, are asked to see into this. Just who you can trust is the issue... 3) The Shadow Theives, now back on the rise, are looking to recruit a few bodies to help with a reclaimation project. The City of the Dead holds many unclaimed treasures, along with being one of the few places the Guards don't look into. They are currently trying to turn a tomb of a former member that is buried there. Of course no one mentioned he might not want his tomb disturbed...or that his tomb is built on top of an older tomb of a Netherse arch mage... 4) Two of the most respected wizards of their time, Presper and Grimwald, need the PCs help. While they are starting up a new guild, they also encounter an extraplanar threat to the stability of the city. Apparently the formerly thought "dead" Shadow Lords, the Maugrims(sp), have come back from the Plane of Shadow and are looking for revenge. Both mages are currently engaging in a covert battle to keep them out, but one might have yet got through. It's uncertain, but they believe there's one inside one of the Magister's, one possibly in the Guild of Merchants, and possible one of the nobility. The PCs have few clues. But then, the Maugrims rarely leave much to chance...
