The player has a tendancy to seek out broken things, in my opinion (he disagrees with this viewpoint). The character is filling the Arcane Spellcaster slot in the group for the City of the Spider Queen adventure. The group has a Zenythri (Lawful Outsider) Monk and a Half-Dwarf/Half-Gold Dragon Fighter Barbarian. This character is one of the three characters entering next week, after we had a string of characters leave (Player hated his cleric sling user once 3.5 fixed all of his tricks, so he made a deal with the player of the arcane caster to dump their characters and switch rolls). A Ranger of indeterminant race and a new cleric (with a whapping type cohort) are entering with this new arcane caster. Don't have the specifics on them yet (especially since the player of the new cleric always changes his character 50 times before the game to have him "just right.") That one I can't really answer, since the character doesn't specifically exist yet. Let me put it this way... when I said that class was broken, his face lit up and delved right back into it. His characters are ALWAYS powerful, in my opinion. Before the fix, his Goblin Cleric (LG) had an attack of around +18 and was doing 17-21 points of damage with a single sling bullet and had an AC between 30 & 32. Personally, I feel his characters are always the most powerful of the group, save for when his wife plays her Half-Orc Barbarian (we have a phrase in our party called "The Farhad Effect," named after that character. It means you only feel inadequate because you're compairing yourself to a one trick pony damage dealer). There is no specific place in the setting for this class, besides it coming from Magic of Faerun. The Campaign world is FR, with the adventure, as mentioned, being City of the Spider Queen. The arcane class he'll be playing is wizard.
