[FR] Info on the planes?

Dark Jezter

First Post
Hi all. I'm looking for any books, web sites, etc. That have information on the various planes in the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting. Places like Warrior's Rest, Dweomerheart, Fury's Heart, and so on. The Manual of the Planes covered some realms that are connected to Faerun, such as the Elemental Planes and the Positive & Negative energy planes, but not the home planes of the deities themselves.

So, can anyone help me?

The Manual of the Planes FAQ has some on this, but not much. It's mostly in the form of "PLane X is like Standard Plane Y"

planescape had a little bit of info on this stuff, but i'm not sure in what book and how much.

I thought that it had all changed for FR since planescape?

This is, technically, correct.

However, given the amount of support the "new" cosmology for the Realms has gotten, and is likely to get, I think what BOZ is suggesting is that you're better off using 2E Planescape materials.

Sure, maybe you are. I'm not at all sure that's what BOZ was saying tho.

I thought that he was saying that they had discussed some of the homes of the gods in planescape.

Oh I definately am. I liked that cosmology.

Really? I thought that was implied. Maybe it was just me though.

Well, I took his statement as being slightly more generic, in that it had more material than the current FR cosmology has for it, and is thus more helpful.

That said, the homes of most (but not all) of the FR gods (and most other gods in the AD&D cosmology) were listed out, and given a small section unto themselves, in On Hallowed Ground, which I thought was a great supplement. Malar, the Beastlord, was featured in the Planescape adventure Something Wild also, since he was trying to leave his divine realm and head elsewhere.

Other listings of the FR gods' divine realms were sprinkled around the Planes of Chaos, Planes of Law, and Planes of Conflict boxed sets also (and maybe A Player's Primer to the Outlands, I can't quite rightly recall there).

you're both right. :D

i was saying that there was some (not extensive) coverage in PS, and since it's not likely to be covered anytime soon in 3E, you're better off taking the old PS stuff and altering to suit both your own campaign and any changed that have happened since 3E realms products debuted.

sounds fair? :)
