Firsly for the Realms scholar . . . how old is Drizzt Do'Urden? in his 40's? 140's? 240's? This is probably an easy question for most, but I just wanted to utilize the mass wealth of stored knowledge that is the EN World board . . . that massive, semi-sentient beast that it is. Secondly, in Masters of the Wild was there not some uber two-weapon fighting prestige class? (illustration showing a lizard man fighting, i think an elf or drow?) What's the deal with this class {not asking for info on the class, like a write up, as i own that book, rahter looking for opinions}, it's kinda replaced by the ranger in some respects if i remember correctly, now that the ranger can get the 'virtual' feats of TWF, Imp. TWF and G. TWF through his regular class levels? One would think that class was tailor made for an DM update on Drizzt, or failing that, some PC's who are Drizzle clones. Hey, I love two-weapon fighting like the next guy, but after a while things get a bit silly. For instance i am converting Drizzt a bit more sensibly than the FRCS version, and as my version of the realms is a tad highpowered (one NPC who is so far ahead of the curve has around 100 class levels, though has alot of problems which prevent him from breaking things -- likewise Elminster is going to get re-done, dude was the head of a thieves guild, you can't do what with 2 rogue levels, let alone pretend to be a mage and fool adventurers with 3 cleric levels). Basically on my high octane, sport utility drizzt i've agreed to give him 12 fighter levels (min maxing for the g. weap. focus and g. weap. specialty feats), as in menzo. he was a fighter, not some ranger. {btw, the 7 bonus fighter feats i chose are: two weapon defense, w. focus: scimitar, w. finesse, w. spec: scim, imp. crit: scim, g.w.focus: scim, g.w.spec: scim} This is augmented by the fact that i am *thinking* of adding a bit of the PrC here (for the imp twf / g.twf). As he's not so much of a spell casting ranger, but has the required wisdom i've gone the route of nerfing his ranger levels, and bumping up his barbarian levels (again: min/maxing to get imp. uncanny dodge, as this guy is hard to be flanked). ends up with ftr12/barb5/rng6 + twfPrC? levels . . . too much? too little? not optimized with the fighter feats / ranger virtual feats and prc bonus feats? he is a pretty streamlined guy, only time i ever read about him not using scimitars was when he fired a bow once or something. that doesn't justify going for the archery ranger feats. the level 6 ranger with 12+ wis (i'm going for 15-16 personally) gives him two first level spells (which can just as easily be used for 'jump' and 'pass w/o a trace' -- two drizzt like spells, though he never really casts them). this post is too long for some snotnosed drow i want to kick down a flight of stairs
