Message: <blockquote data-quote="Edena_of_Neith" data-source="post: 847710" data-attributes="member: 2020">I guess I will elaborate on what I mean when I say that gold elves are strange critters.  But it won't clarify anything.  In the 1st and 2nd IRs, the gold elves of Evermeet (along with the other elves of Evermeet) destroyed all the magic in Realmspace, killing millions of innocent people.   This was done, obstentably, to protect the world and Realmspace from itself.  Then, the gold elves of Evermeet were all killed by Forrester's humanoids.  Evermeet itself was destroyed forever.  Many came to their aid.  Faerie, druids, beings of the forest, and others.  They shared the fate of the elves, or were driven away.  The shades of the gold elves of Evermeet rose up to defend Toril against their own brethren, when the Elven Armada of Retribution came to destroy that world.  Their interference was crucial in stopping the other elves.  The gold elves called this partial restitution for their crimes.  The Ceremony of the Church of Toril then resurrected the gold elves of Evermeet.  The gold elves saw this as a second chance for the People (the Tel Quessir.)  The gold elves of Evermeet, joined with Forrester and his humanoids into one people, forever acknowledging Forrester's overlordship.    The gold elves, saw this mingling as something wondrous, something truly worthwhile.  An ascension of their race into something greater.  The gold elves of Evermeet interbred with the orcs, goblins, kobolds, and others until no pure gold elves remained ... but many new and interesting races were created in their place.  As I said, gold elves are strange critters.</blockquote>
